I don’t say this lightly. It was the best pasta I’ve ever had. Every bite made me cross-eyed. It was incredible. A death row last meal. Excellent wine list. Oh yea, you can look at the Pantheon if you’re seated outside. The veal with lemon cream was a daily special so don’t expect it to be available. My rigatoni gave me a Diavola pizza vibe in pasta form but the crispy pancetta was cooked so perfectly, it melted and added a salty element. Stanley Tucci ate here and had this pasta. My wife’s carbonara was equally perfect as I finished her plate. We (I) left nothing. I’m almost sad to eat elsewhere now because I’ll just be comparing it to Armando al Pantheon.
C'era fantastico! Absolutely loved this place. The staff were amazing, very friendly, polite and professional, with excellent knowledge of the food and wine on offer. The restaurant itself has a great ambience. Not too cramped, pleasant decor and lighting. Cozy feel. The food though, was outstanding. We had Selezione di Formaggi Locale, Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe, Spaghetti alla Carbonara (with Scarpetta, of course) and the Torta Antica Roma. They were all fantastic. I will definitely be aiming to revisit when I'm next in Rome.
Fabrizio and her partner are amazing. Tons of local knowledge and perfect suggestions. Food unbelievable and wine pairings perfect! Will. ALWAYS return... definitely get a reservation. And a MUST in Rome.
Small, intimate restaurant where reservation is needed. The food was undoubtedly, the best we had during our stay in Rome. To begin, we ordered the mozzarella del bufala, which was excellent. The tomatoes were sweet, rich, and tasty. The breadcrumbs added a delicious crunch to the dish. The highlights of the evening were the spaghetti alla carbonara and the rigatoni all’amatriciana. The carbonara was creamy and perfectly emulsified. Both pastas were perfectly cooked al dente. What truly made both dishes was the guanciale; cut a bit thick, it added a fatty crisp to each bite! Lastly, we enjoyed the trippa alla romana. The tripe was well cooked (chewy but not rubbery) and the rich tomato sauce was infused into the tripe. It was not overly intense at all! Overall, fantastic meal and fantastic atmosphere.
It was the best experience at Rome. Davide was the waiter and makes us feel at home. He speaks several languages and has a lovely attitude. Reasonable prices and excellent food. Highly recommended.
