We had a fantastic time at the Petersen Automotive Museum! The collection of cars is impressive, with everything from classic vehicles to modern supercars and unique exhibits. The museum is well organized, clean, and easy to explore. Even family members who are not huge car enthusiasts found it interesting and enjoyable. There is so much to see, and the displays are beautifully presented. It’s a great place to visit in Los Angeles and definitely worth the time. Highly recommended for both adults and children!
The Petersen Automotive Museum is simply phenomenal. Home to one of the world’s largest car collections, it’s truly an auto enthusiast’s dream. For starters, I love the building’s futuristic-looking facade — it immediately stands out before you even walk inside. There’s an on-site parking garage with reasonable pricing. Current rates are listed as: first 2 hours $18, each additional hour $3, with a daily max of $24 when combined with museum admission. Even the parking garage is impressive. Visitors can view several vehicles for free, including a 1981 Ford McLaren Mustang, 1967 Dodge Hemi Coronet, 1992 Ford F-150 Flareside XLT Lariat, 1990 Laforza, and a 1991 Bentley Turbo R. I paid $51 for full access to the museum, including the Vault tour, and I thought it was absolutely worth it. The museum features more than 100 vehicles spread across 25 galleries, along with three public exhibit floors and a basement Vault containing 300+ rare vehicles. (The Vault tour is a separate add-on from general admission.) As someone who was a teenager in the ’80s, I especially loved the “Totally Awesome! Cars and Culture of the ’80s and ’90s” exhibit. This is easily the best automotive museum I’ve ever visited, and I had an incredible time!
The Petersen Automotive Museum is a must-visit for anyone interested in cars, engineering, design, or technology. The collection is impressive and covers everything from automotive history and design to racing, technology, and future mobility. I particularly enjoyed the Waymo exhibit, which offers an interesting look at autonomous driving, as well as the famous cars from the Fast & Furious franchise and other movie vehicles. The collection of vintage motorcycles was also fascinating and added great variety to the experience. The museum is very well organized, and there is enough content to keep you engaged for several hours. One thing to note is that backpacks and larger bags are not allowed inside the exhibits, but the museum provides free lockers, which is a convenient service for visitors. There is also an additional special exhibit that requires a separate ticket. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to visit it, and I found the extra cost a bit high, but it may be worth it for dedicated car enthusiasts. Overall, a fantastic museum with something for visitors of all ages and interests.
had a great time visiting the Petersen Automotive Museum. I spent about 2 hours there and did the full tour package, which included access to the new Vault with over 300 extra cars. The collection was awesome — rare prototypes, supercars, classic cars from different eras, new models, and movie cars. It’s a must-see for car fans in Los Angeles. I recommend paying for the Vault access!
Enchanted with Petersen Automotive Museum, located right across the street from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts museum. Petesen’s has THE DeLorean from all three Back To The Future movies. Seeing the flux capacitor in person made me smile all day long. Classic cars, movie cars, concept cars, and a nice history of Waymo are all part of this terrific collection. An especially nice touch was the kindness of the museum’s docents, who were helpful and full of good information. If you like cars, please make time to visit. I am betting you will really enjoy it!
