The Royal Observatory Greenwich is one of the London's most interesting attractions, with a history of scientific advancement, appealing architecture and some of the best views over the Thames. Visitors to the site can explore the grounds free of charge; to see inside the buildings there's a charge of £24 (at time of writing). This isn't cheap, but gives access to landmark features like the Great Equatorial Telescope, one of the largest in the world, and the historic Octagon Room, designed by Christopher Wren in the 17th century. A digital audio guide makes it easy to navigate the site, while guided tours are available for those wanting to learn more. Displays are well presented, with a host of exhibits covering developments in astronomy and timekeeping for which Greenwich is famous. Onsite facilities are good, with a café, gift shop, toilets, and parking at Greenwich Park. Thames Clippers stop at Greenwich Pier, around a 15 minute walk from the Observatory. The elevated position offers impressive views over the river, with the Canary Wharf skyscrapers providing a striking backdrop.

I had a wonderful time visiting Greenwich. The area is beautiful, peaceful, and full of charm. I especially enjoyed walking through the stunning park, which offers plenty of green spaces, lovely pathways, and breathtaking views of London. It was the perfect place to relax, enjoy nature, and spend a pleasant afternoon outdoors. I have attached a short video to share some of the scenery and atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing walk and a memorable experience in London.

Always a great experience. My daughter is studying a course run by the observatory staff. They are so helpful, welcoming and knowledgeable. The grounds of the park are beautiful. I love taking my daughter to the observatory and maritime museum and walking round the park is a a delight. Highly recommend this as a lone visitor, as a romantic day out or as a family trip.

I absolutely loved my visit to the Royal Observatory Greenwich! The views of the Tower Bridge from the boat were breathtaking 🌉. Learning about the historical maps, like the one showing India under Company control, was incredibly insightful and fascinating 🗺️. Such a wonderfully enriching experience! ✨

What a great experience it was to visit here. The park is great and there is a beautiful view of the city from over the balcony. The tour guide was brilliant and gave lots of interesting facts about the history of the observatory.
