An absolutely magical place for all ages! The moment you walk into Hintze Hall and see the massive blue whale skeleton suspended from the ceiling, you know you’re in for something special. It’s a very family-friendly museum where you can easily spend the entire day exploring. The dinosaur gallery with its incredible fossils is a highlight, and the exhibits on evolution are fascinating. A wonderful experience in a stunning building. Free entry!
If you had the time to do one museum on your London trip it has to be this one. The Natural History Museum is such a joy to visit with its carefully thought out sections and indoor/outdoor layout. You can easily spend 6 hours walking around here with breaks. If you are short on time then I would recommend saving 2 hours for a quick tour to cover the major exhibits. Also the gift shop is absolutely adorable and you can pick up great souvenirs from here.
Definitely worth to visit but you need to book free tickets on their website few days early else you need to wait in a very long queue like us. Suitable for all ages but the kids will love it more. Beautiful museum and the gemstone exhibition hall is superb and eye opening for us. The kid loves dinosaur and fossils exhibition better
Took our 2 boys here while visiting London, we didn’t pre book tickets as it was a spur of the moment decision. Entry is free. We queued for about 15-20 minutes, which wasn’t bad for a weekend. The architecture is stunning, and the museum is huge! There’s plenty to see in and outdoors which is great for kids, to stretch their legs. Our boys particularly enjoyed the dinosaur exhibits and the life size whale. Plenty of gift shops which are reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend, a full day or even spread over two to fully experience this place.
For anyone that enjoys to see a bit of the animal world, fossils, rocks and dinosaurs...it's definitely worth the go. They have an extensive range of species to see, fascinating collection. It's family friendly, with facilities to have a short break. Def check the shop, there's a few nice things to pick up : ) Small advice when planning your trip: Even though it's free to enter, make sure you buy the free tickets online...as there are two ques outside the museum. The one for those having tickets ( takes 2 seconds to scan - no wait time ) and the very long one ( where you are getting a ticket at the desk - a very, very long que - must avoid )
